Very disappointing case. We did Hillwood, Deadly Inheritance and the Hiker. Each case left us with different theories, and questions, and we had to change it multiple times.
We left the traveller for last, as it's a 5/5, and the most expensive, expecting it to be out favourite.
But honestly, it was a little bit boring, and too simple.
There was no different theories to be made, as all the evidence led straight to the answer.
Honestly a bit disappointed, but overall - Love On the Case, and would recommend their other cases.
Great case! Loved it. The video evidence gave it a fun little twist. Kept us busy for quite a while. Definitely a case I would recommend.
Very well done case! Took us a minute to figure it out, but as soon as we got it, we we're right! So much fun.
This was our first case that we did, and would definitely recommend! So many plots and turns. :)
Enjoyed an evening with our adult kids playing detectives. Loved it!
We really enjoyed playing detective and have already ordered 2 additional cases.
I bought Deadly Inheritance for me and my friends to celebrate my 25th Birthday. AND WOW! What an exciting time, everything is thought out and so professionally done it looks real! Everything is there to solve the case you just have to look alittle deeper! Will definitely be purchasing another soon 😊
I ordered seaside homicide and the traveler. Seaside homicide was awesome and we couldnt wait to open the next one.
Once we got started, we guessed objective one, took a chance and opened the hint on on the website. Our guess was correct but it looked like we were missing a key piece of evidence.
we then figured out objective 2. It was correct, so i asked my husband okay, next?
And he said, thats it.
There was still so many unanswered questions! I was so confused. It just left us moody and unsatisfied.
I dont want to leave spoilers here but the body buried itself?????
My husband and i solved this one in 20minutes.
It was super fun and got us thinking. It made sense and added up. we felt like bosses when getting all the objectives correct! was so satisfying.
I ordered seaside homicide and the traveler. The traveler was just meh. Wouldn't recommend it.
This was our first one and we really enjoyed it! The instructions were clear and the contents were all great quality.
We spent our Easter weekend working through the case files over a cozy charcuterie brunch date—and it was such a memorable experience! The physical evidence made it feel like we were real detectives, and the online answers and blogs were super helpful when we needed a hint without spoiling the fun.
It was the perfect way to slow down, connect, and challenge ourselves together. If you’re looking for a unique and interactive date idea, this one’s a winner. Highly recommend pairing it with good food and even better company!
We found ourselves re-reading all the evidence multiple times because key information seemed to be missing. We were completely confused about where the answers to the objectives were meant to come from, it just didn’t add up. We even checked the envelopes again hoping we had missed something, but there was nothing more to find.
This was my third On the Case game. I really enjoyed the others, but this one left us feeling disappointed and since it was a planned evening too. The clues didn’t seem to logically lead to the final solution, and we got several objectives wrong without being able to understand how the correct answers were reached.
We could not wait to play and solve the mystery, but as soon as we started, we realised it did not make sense at all. Things did not add up. There is so much missing information and changes that can be made to make this work, and make it as fun as they portray it to be. Also, add the information to go and look at the website in the "case file".
This was me and wife 5th case, but can honestly say this was one was not fun at all, would not recommend this one to anyone.
It felt like a early release game but the never completed the game.
It was an interesting case with a fun twist but there were a few confusing points.
SPOILERS AHEAD
The question of the key (Objective 2) caused a lot of confusion. In his interview, Harry speaks of a single key used to lock up the doors of the house with the implication that he still has it. So it’s confusing when he’s apparently the one who dropped the key to the side drawer. It makes no sense. Julie could have given the key to anyone. Perhaps it was in Alex’s possession and he simply dropped it or knocked it over. The link is flimsy. There is nothing directly connecting the key to Harry.
The question of the woman’s voice in the CCTV footage was baffling and left unanswered. Assuming she was the live-in maid mentioned in the interview (which is never confirmed), why was she awake at 00:00-02:00? And who was she talking to? It’s a confusing point that is never explained.
But otherwise, an entertaining story.
We absolutely enjoyed playing this game. It was engaging and we managed to solve the mystery within 45 minutes.
Really enjoyed the concept, maybe lacking in depth. Will definitely be trying another game though.
Good start but we are missing the staff list of all the people. Can not go on with this case.... Trying to find the list that we can go on.
We were extremely exited to receive this game, however once we started playing things quickly didn’t add up? We only found out that there is an online blog after objective 3 and by this point we were very uninterested and bored. There was no clear instructions telling us that there was an online blog, however in saying this the blog didn’t give us much information needed to solve this case other than the mother’s name. The autopsy files have little to no evidence regarding this game. There is more put into the emails from the detective than anything else. It was all over the place and quite frankly a bit of a waste of time. Very unimpressed
We were so excited about this mystery, but no one could solve it correctly. When we looked at the last solution we were stunned as the murderer didn't appear anywhere. Now when I was asked to rate the case I noticed a Answer Key tab with links to websites etc which should have been used in the case....... this info would have been helpful in the objective one. Perhaps in future the game masters could write instruction like go the this website (it actually works or exists and not just written on the glues).
This was the best murder mystery we have solved so far. The steps were logical and fun to solve.
We absolutely loved this – such a great idea for a date night! We had so much fun and really enjoyed the experience.
The only thing we’d suggest is providing a clearer step-by-step explanation of how to start the game. At first, we avoided the answer key site because we were worried it might spoil things, but later realized it would’ve actually helped us understand the setup better.
Overall, we were very happy – just a bit more guidance in the beginning would’ve made it perfect!
We enjoyed the mystery, and used it for a date night. It did not take too long to crack the case, although some of the clues were a bit vague.
This was our third mystery and we will definitely get more.
